At the recommendation of our contractor chose Marvin Integrity as it supposedly is the best window he installs for customers. My research showed that Anderson is much better for the same or less cost at Home Depot. I deferred to his judgement as he would be on the hook for install, service and support.

Bought three replacement windows and a french patio door. The windows look nice, compared to the 40 year old replacements, but with that criteria you should be able to hit a home run. right?

Industrial Glue all over glass

All the windows had glue all over the glass. Where the edge of the glass meets the wood frame, it looks like they put too much glue in and then when the pieces pressed together all the glue oozed out on the glass. Each of the panes of glass on the three windows.. Seven in total had this problem. What sloppiness! To make matters worse, the glue was industrial strength so you couldn't just wipe it off with soap and water, i had to use a razor blade careful to not scratch the glass coating.

Screens Didn't fit

The screens on the windows were the wrong size too. When the screens were in the window, you could see gaps on both sides of the screen at the same time. Requested replacements and when they came in 8 weeks later they were almost too snug to fit into the window space. Arrrgh To make matters worse, their screens have plastic pegs to hold them into the frame. Well good luck with that. The plastic pegs fatigue fast in the sun and have already cracked off, less then 6 months installed.

Window Fit and Finish

The windows are sloppy loose when opening and closing. I compare this to a cheaper set of Jeld Wen vinyl windows installed upstairs in my house. Much better fit and firm operation. To boot, these Jeld Wen windows are 10+ years old. All original screens too! (they use metal pegs to keep things together! go figure Marvin!)

I regret this purchase, wish I had stood up to the contractor more firmly. My only 'saving' grace is that I don't intend to stay in this house for more than a couple of years so I won't have to put up with guaranteed repairs for these sub par windows.

I feel like a fool because the comparable Anderson windows are the same price or a little less with a much, much Consumer Reports rating than these kraptastic things

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Monetary Loss: $5000.

Preferred solution: I don't need more hassle with this product, this company sent 7 poorly made windows to me, no additional chances to be given. Maybe my experience is to serve as a warning to others. .

Marvin Windows And Doors Cons: Poor quality of premium windows.

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Your installer doesn't know how to install a fiberglass window properly if screen are not fitting properly and are not closing/opening smoothly.
