Verified Reviewer | Anaheim, CaliforniaBroken glass and faulty doors
The interior pain of one of our sliders spontaneously burst at 4am. There is no contact point with anything.
The break originated under the frame.
I spoke to customer service who informed me that "we" probably broke the window and it's our responsibility to fix it. There's a 1-year warranty on broken glass. Our glass spontaneously broke in the middle of the night under the frame and they won't even consider dealing with it. We have eight sets of Marvin sliding glass doors in our house, at almost $80,000.
Are they all going to spontaneously shatter??
Not to mention, the doors need real arm strength to open. The lock mechanism is difficult for most people to figure out and the screen doors are so incredibly inferior.
They won't stay on the tracks and the screen barely stays in its frame.
The local Marvin dealer said there's no recorse for our problems other than calling an outside company to come and fix the problems.
Was it worth paying that much money for this quality? I don't believe so.
- Good looking
- Poor function and customer service
Preferred solution: Repair
New window installed, damaged and company does not stand by the product
Company sent out a technician and a 2nd person to review. They concluded the window was damaged in transit, dropped on a corner, and insisted "someone else" was responsible.
They suggested my husband was responsible, the construction carpenters were responsible, the local lumber yard that ordered and received shipment was responsible, or perhaps the delivery people responsible, etc.
Everybody else but Marvin is responsible for their BRAND NEW UNUSED WINDOW. the solution was put some caulk and wood putty on it, fix it yourself.
User's recommendation: DO NOT buy Marvin, and tell your local provider - lumber yard, sales outlet, what they may be in for. Not only were they happy to tell my husband he was the problems, they were happy to bad mouth the local business selling their product.
Improper installation of flashing. I asked for English speaking person on site. Instead got supervisor barely understanding and spoke broken English. Screens are very cheap! Many not flushed to bottom
Screens are very cheap. Many do not flush to bottom.
They have 4 little tabs where some do not fit in. Screen fell out of window on top floor! Some appear to look warped. I have called at least three times about the screens.
I am told manufacture. I say so what get another manufacturer that will produce a better screen! Problem tilting windows forward for cleaning! Also, these windows are not so easy to open and close.
I thought I would go with a stronger window frame than vinyl. I paid for 14 windows by a good vinyl company and had excellent installers. No issues with windows. No problem with screens!
Marvin 14 windows, many issues.
I have 13 windows left to be replaced. I will not be using Marvin.!
User's recommendation: Their trucks say”Next Door & Window “. They have many companies on their trucks, including Marvin, and claim all their installers are Marvin train I don’t think so! Dodge a bullet.
Cheap screens, Poor installation
Ive called several times about screens you can see sunlight from bottom they do not flush they require four tabs were some do not fit, causing one screen to fall out from top floor. I requested an English speaking person instead supervisor had little knowledge of English and spoke broken English.
Supervisor and One particular installer installed flashing on top of debris where vacuum cleaner was steps away.
At least three calls about screens and told different manufacture I said, so what get a better manufacture for better screen. window difficult to move tilt forward for cleaning, when returning to original position, was not easy.
User's recommendation: Dodge a bullet use Anderson, the very expensive or a good vinyl window by Feldco.
Poor quality for the price
Purchased 2 new doors for $5,000+ each. Aluminum trim panels are not flush at seams, sealant sloppily applied, door latch needed repair (by great service tech), gasket buckled on fixed panel, sharp edges at top and bottom (may cut dogs feet), gaps between aluminum clad and wood.
Build quality does not match price. NOT HAPPY!
User's recommendation: shop other brands
Poor experience with customer service
Marvin has terrible customer service. I was told that they only make the product and it is the responsibility and questions about installation or issues adjusting doors is on the builder; not Marvin.
Marvin makes a good product but I would not purchase them again.
User's recommendation: Do not purchase Marvin products if you care about customer service.

Verified Reviewer | Chicago, IllinoisDelivery issues
After 7 months we received the window but the trim made by Marvin was wrong. Waiting again.
Still no contact
I ordered and paid over $11k for 3 Marvin windows in March 2023 and after 6 months (although was told 4-5 months) received 2 of the windows. My third window, now at 7 1/2 months has still not arrived and cold weather is coming.
I have called Marvin multiple times and been told several stories, and the Marvin dealers is also in the dark.
I was guaranteed my window was scheduled for delivery finally a week ago and when it did not arrived I called and was told oops it was taken off the truck, no explanation and no one,. even my dealer, was told.
User's recommendation: I WOULD EXPECT TO WAIT IF YOU PLAN TO BUY MARVIN AND EXPECT NO SUPPORT FROM MARVIN

Verified Reviewer | Twin Lakes, WisconsinNever received windows ordered 29 weeks ago (more than 6 months)
We paid up front as required in March for 3 windows from Marvin. We were told by Marvin's dealer delivery was running about 8-12 weeks.
As we got close to the 12 week (giving the farthest date presuming we would be told if it was later) we started to set up our carpenter and painter. After numerous calls we were told it would be more like 16 weeks so we told our tradesmen. As we approached 16 weeks were were told told after we called numerous times again that now it would be more like 20-22 weeks. I then spoke with Marvin's regional supervisor, Paul, for our dealer.
Paul said although the dealer was in his region since April he had never spoken to or been in contact with our dealer. I explained the issue to Paul who said he really could not help as he had no control on deliveries and I should call Minnesota. I spoke with Gary multiple times in Marvin's Minnesota location and was told that actually it would be more like 26-28 weeks. We received 2 of the windows in the 26 week time period but the 3rd never arrived.
I again spoke with Gary and expressed frustration and wanted the window. Gary checked with manufacturing and was assured the window would be on the truck for delivery 9/26 (a 28 week delay) We are now going into week 29, no window was delivered and Gary said oops the window was taken off the truck but "no one was told". For a company that claimed repeatedly they communicate all delays I think this was evidence that was untrue and may have been untrue all the way along. I plan to file complaints with the state and federal agencies governing interstate commerce and online purchasing and payments requiring informed delays.
I am now unsure when or if my window was ever manufactured and or delivered. DO NOT BUY FROM MARVIN.

Verified Reviewer | Wixom, MichiganPoor customer service
Replaced slider for Marvins Coast Line French doors January 2023. Took five months for doors to arrive.
Installer from window company( not Marvin) was fantastic and noticed the holes that came drilled from factory were too large. Marvin sent rep out, he was rude to the point he put a nick in the glass of one door. Marvin factory sent new side rails, only for holes to be too large again. Here we are at June 2,2023 and service guys are here putting new side rails on the doors without checking to see if holes will be covered by handles.
Theyve put nothing up to cover opening and already its been over three hours.
So our whole house is being flooded with mosquitoes. Marvin only cares about the money not the customers.

Verified Reviewer | Edmond, OklahomaInstalled Incorrect Color Doors Windows and thresholds
Marvin customer service was absolutely most helpful when I mentioned the incorrect colr of the windows, doors and thresholds was incorrect. They will launch a "thorough" investigation and report back to me.
Amazing Exteriors ordered the incorrect color of windows and doors and thresholds. After attempting to correct this for 3 years, now they said that Marvin Window Corp. refuses to manufacture and replace the correct color.
I would like to launch a formal complaint.

- Great product
- Wrong color delivered with no resolution
Preferred solution: The correct exterior color of the windows and doors as well as the correct threshold color that matches the current windows and doors. I would like Marvin to conduct a thorough investigation that would answer the questionable leaders of the vendor.
User's recommendation: Stay away from Marvin Windows. They do not back the guarantee,

This is how they build them. I had similar issues, I identified 30 imperfections that would make most people complain too.
They replaced my sashes & astral. There are some scuff marks on the frame that I decided to accept.
The alternative was wait another 5 months. I will not buy from them again.
