Replaced my windows in 2005 that were installed when the house was built in 1928. The old one were perfect, so sorry I did this, the Marvin ones are rotting and when I contacted them they said the 10 year warranty was up, just over the 10 years. I used an agent, who...

I had most of the windows on the first floor of my house replaced with Andersen in 2003 - going strong, great, heat retaining windows. Last summer I had 2 Marvin windows installed in my upstairs bedroom.

Unlike the Andersen, you can feel the cold air rolling off them - such poor quality insulation.

I'm very disappointed. Do not buy Marvin - expensive and poor quality.

If someone breaks a window you’re screwed

In 2005 I equipped my house with all new wood clad Marvin windows thinking they were a quality product. Mechanically theyve been able to withstand test of time, but when one of the panes was broken I was told I would need to replace the entire window! But to add insult to injury, the window is discontinued and is a part of a set, so I would need to replace 5 windows to make them match!! So with installation, replacing a pane of glass could cost me upwards of $5000. This is obviously a massive design flaw and Marvin is unwilling to take responsibility for it. This is disappointing to say the least, and my recommendation is to avoid Marvin Windows at all costs.

User's recommendation: Don’t buy Marvin Windows.

Unhappy customer

Bought two sliding glass doors, Total with installation was $12,000. One has had problems from near the beginning. Squeals when opening and shutting. The major problem is the door bouncing back when shutting. Had sales and installer out and they can't fix it. So I have a door leak if I don't pull the door to lock it. Scott Seidenstricker Reno, NV

User's recommendation: Don't buy Mavin Windows or door.

Sick and tired of Marvin windows and doors lousy functioning

Screens are poorly made, for starters. The door handles are lousy and our French patio door handle often comes right off in my hand, or our guests'. The windows are very difficult to open and pieces move from the sash preventing easy opening or any opening at all. We spent a fortune on 'high end' Marvin windows and doors and they are basically JUNK! Go with Andersen .so]]]]]]] some other

User's recommendation: DO NOT BUY. In this case, it is just expensive junk.

Incredibly poor screens

Marvin Windows And Doors - Incredibly poor screens
Marvin Windows And Doors - Incredibly poor screens
Original review updated by user Aug 04, 2021
Screens allow so many bugs and gnats in, that windows can never be opened. If you should have your windows open and a light on in the room, so many gnats rush into the room that they have set off the smoke detector 5 times so far, always in the middle of the night. The window area is always filthy with dead bugs. Windows are 2 years old.

User's recommendation: Stay away from Marvin.

Warrantee question

I need 2 new crank shafts. Repeated phone calls and still no order placed. I want to give Marvin my cc number, so I can get what I need, but I keep getting sent to a voicemail. Friendly people, but poor customer service!

We spent a ton of money on Marvin windows. We fell in love with the modern wood patio sliding door after spending 3 years looking for a door we liked. We bought wood windows for the main part of the house (living, family, dinning) and fiberglass for the bedrooms to...

Horrible customer service

I spent over 50K on Marvin doors and windows. I placed an order on Oct 16 and at the time of my order the lead time was 8 to 10 weeks. I was supposed to receive the doors and windows by the end of Dec. then they delayed and said they will ship it something around Jan 16, then again delayed it and as of Feb 4 I couldn't get a definite ETA for my order. Just a few min ago the dealer emailed me a new delivery date of Feb 28! 4.5 months after I placed the order. Marvin customer service has no clue about anything, they never informed me of the delays ahead of time or even can answer a simple question of locating my order just a total mess. I would never ever order Marvin again!

We experienced similar delays. Almost 6 months and the quality was substandard.

Parts missing, wrong color hardware (literally two color hinges on the same door), etc. This company has become an absolute joke and I can't understand how they claim to sell a premium product.

Exploding Double Paned Integrity Windows

Marvin Windows And Doors - Exploding Double Paned Integrity Windows
Marvin Windows And Doors - Exploding Double Paned Integrity Windows
We have lived in our home for over 15 years and one of our bedrooms had replacement, double hung, Marvin Integrity Windows installed as replacements by the prior owner. Strangely, in the last two months, the inside glass pane of the upper section of two of the windows has shattered (loudly) for no reason, without any impact or other stress, that can be ascertained. I was literally just sitting at my computer when each incident happened. These are obviously way out of warranty, but it will be a pain to remove the windows (when the weather warms up) and take them to a local dealer for replacement.

I experienced exactly the same thing with the top sash of a Marvin Integrity triple pane window. Noone was even in the room when it shattered.

Rotting sillls on Marvin wondows

Went to open a Marvin casement in my home. Crank mechanism pulled rotted wood right out of sill! I replaced all of the windows in my home with high end Marvin wooden windows. Several have rotted. They were installed about 15 years ago, but should the wood rot out with normal use? I am annoyed. Anyone ever use a window repair company to replace rotted wood on sill?

User's recommendation: I cannot recommend Marvin windows.

We replaced our back door thru this company. Our old door measured 80 inches. They replaced it with a 79 1/2 in. custom door for reasons no one has been able to explain to us. It created an issue because our screen door could not be put back on causing us to have to...
